From Caregiver To Breadwinner

Empowering Underserved Women with the Skills
to Move into the Technology Workforce

Marymount Universityโ€™s Center for the Innovative Workforce is looking for women to apply to the โ€œFrom Caregiver to Bread Winnerโ€ program who are:

– Interested in technology

– Capable of utilizing basic functions on a computer (no formal education required)

– Passionate about customer care

– Proficient in Verbal and Written English (Proficiency in a second language is a plus!)

– Motivated to pursue a higher paying career
Applicants must also possess a High School Diploma or GED/equivalent.

Selected applicants will be given the opportunity toโ€ฆ

Attend a no-cost 12-week training program, offered in-person at Marymount Universityโ€™s Ballston campus or online, to learn the concepts of IT and cybersecurity in order to prepare for an entry-level position as a Help Desk Support Specialist

Receive support with job search, resumรฉs, and mock interviews

Receive 6 months of mentorship throughout job search and first months of new career

The total cost of the program is $776,000. $766,000 (98.7%) is funded through a U.S. Department of Labor- Community Project Funding/Congressionally Directed Spending grant. The other $10,000 (1.3%)
is funded through ISACA, a non-Federal source.

Dear High School Families, Virginia House Bill HB1473 requires the Virginia Department of Education to develop a fentanyl education and awareness one-sheet to be distributed to high school students during the first two weeks of schools. The one-sheet aims to promote awareness of fentanyl dangers and provide overdose prevention information.  View the fentanyl education/awareness one-sheet information in the following languages:  English Spanish Arabic Chinese Farsi Korean Pashto Urdu Vietnamese
